Body camera video shows trooper lying to Raleigh police officers about deadly crash

Newly released videos from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and Raleigh Police Department show the aftermath of an Oct. 7, 2024, crash that killed Tyrone Mason, after a brief chase by Trooper Garrett Macario.

The footage reveals Macario's immediate call to his supervisor, Sgt. Matthew Morrison.
