TEXAS POLICE FORCE NEARLY WIPED OUT IN STRING OF ABUSE OF POWER INDICTMENTS
The Llano Police Department is searching for a new police chief and trying to fill 4 other officer positions after a series of grand jury indictments nearly wiped out the force. The latest indictments came earlier this month.
The indictments claim the officers--and one Llano County deputy--committed multiple abuse of power crimes while on the clock. Many of those instances were caught on body camera. In other cases, the indictments allege one cop deleted or turned his body camera off to keep portions of his conduct from being recorded.
The chief was convicted of his crimes in July, the next cop's trial is set for October 2018.
