Not only did he hit and kill someone while driving drunk, but he intentionally fled the scene multiple times, lied to police, obstructing the investigation, and he tried to falsely accuse an innocent person of the crime he knew he committed. If this was anyone else they would’ve gotten absolutely smoked by the judge.  He got off with a slap on the wrist because of who his father is.
