Sheriff suspended, indicted after confrontation with another officer | Behind the Investigation
Less than 24 hours after a local grand jury’s seven-count indictment was issued, Towns County Sheriff Kenneth Henderson surrendered himself at the jail where he has presided since 2021.
He was released on bond and on his own recognizance; he is also being allowed to keep his firearm. Henderson was indicted on seven charges related to his December 2024 physical confrontation with a local police officer.
