Cop Gets FIRED And CHARGED For Arresting Disabled Man

 

In August 2022 a man named Matthew McManus walked into a Target store in Albuquerque New Mexico. He was trying to buy a bicycle. He was paying cash at a self-checkout.

Two juries could not reach unanimous verdicts. Two separate trials ended in hung juries before charges were dropped in April 2025.

 That tells me something profound about how difficult it is to hold officers accountable even when body camera footage captures clear constitutional violations in high definition.

The evidence was right there on video. We all just watched it. And still the system could not deliver accountability.
